Join Arizona Public Media and the Pima County Public Library in celebration of the rich Mexican-American and Latinx cultural heritage of Southern Arizona during Mes de la Cultura! Shelly Black, Knowledge River Scholar (cohort 17) and UA iSchool alum (MA LIS ’20), is the recipient of the 2021 Brenda S. Banks Travel Award awarded by the Society of American Archivists (SAA). The award “…recognizes and acknowledges individuals of color, such as those of African, Asian, Latinx, Middle Eastern/North African, Native American, Alaska Native, or Pacific Islander descent, and who have demonstrated professional archival experience and manifest an interest in becoming active members of the Society of American Archivists.”
